Engineers Without Borders

Santiago, Honduras
In August another EWB group returns to Santiago, Honduras to expand and refine a water distribution system the Miners helped build in 2008. The long-term goal is to provide clean water to the 6,000 citizens of Santiago 24 hours a day.

Erquis Sud, Bolivia
The team travels to Erquis Sud, Bolivia in July to help build an a gabion wall erosion control system to prevent the river from eroding the hillside on which the town’s water tank, built on a previous S&T EWB trip, is located.

Tacachia, Bolivia 2011
Protecting limited farmland from erosion, expanding the community’s water pumping system, and bringing water to the local school and childrens’ home are the team’s 2011 priorities.
