Create to compete. Compete to Refine. Refine to Cure.

We’re an interdisciplinary design team focused on finding solutions for current biomedical problems. We operate as a non-profit business to gain real-world hands-on experience and offer competitive and non-competitive positions.

Want to Get Involved?

Our team always wants more talented individuals looking to build their design skills.

BME Design Team competed in Kansas City in 2025

What Do We Do?

We build a solution to a biological problem in the medical world and compete in different competitions around the state to showcase our work, compete for funding for the project, and receive feedback on what we can improve. Our projects are notably diverse and have contained topics such as a 3D scanning application, acne patches, a serum for necrosis, and more!

Where Do You Fit In?

Any and all majors are welcome! If you are interested in the material, you are welcome to join. We have a competitive team for those interested in participating in competitions and building a product, but we also have a non-competitive team for those interested in supporting the team with things like outreach or bake events and a smaller time commitment. No experience is needed for either of the teams.

What Will You Gain?

This team provides you with real world experiences involving business and biomedical principles. We have the freedom to choose a multitude of projects to work on, so you will have a lot of variety in terms of the topic of project. You’ll have the opportunity to work on skills such as:

  • Presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial thinking
  • Problem Solving
  • Teamwork
  • Project Planning
  • Networking
  • Pitching Skills

What Sets Us Apart?

Our team is unique because of how easy it is to join and start a project. Our projects are also unique because they aren’t about one specific topic; they just encompass Biomedical Engineering. So, our projects truly can pertain to any major or interest. We can’t wait to see you here!

Have a Question?
