Here at Missouri S&T Formula Electric, we are building the future of racing. The future of the automotive industry is electric, and we are at the forefront of the industry by designing, building, and racing a fully electric, environmentally friendly, formula-style race car. Our team competes at the Formula SAE competition, which is being held in Fontana, California in June 2020.

What Do We Do?
Our team is essentially an Independent product development and rapid prototyping firm.
The scenario we operate under is that our company has been contracted to design an electrically powered open-wheel race car, (think Formula 1 or Indy cars). This competition is MUCH more than just putting together a "race car." This is a full-on company that we run, minus making a profit and paying employees.
Just getting to the competition requires that we design, manufacture, build, and test our race car. However, that isn't even half of it. We also have to develop and deliver a business plan, a projected production plan with cost analysis, and undergo a rigorous design review that will convince the “Manufacturer” to invest in our design.
Where Do You Fit In?
This work involves engineering disciplines including Aerospace, Computer science, Electrical, and Mechanical. However, it does not stop there. There is also a need for people in Business, Management, Marketing, and even Arts (somebody has to make things look good).
